Brunch at Papa John's

Nope, Papa John is not a term of endearment for somebody's boyfriend. It's one of the newer pizza joints that sprouted in Metro Manila.
Being a Sunday, we woke up late, which was the reason why we didn't have the time to have our breakfast as we had to catch the 10 AM mass.
Right after mass, we were supposed to do our grocery first, but the flesh was weak. Our stomachs were grumbling since we haven't had anything solid since we woke up except for some choc chip cookies. We decided to have lunch first. Since we're doing our grocery in Shopwise Sucat, we thought of having lunch at BF in the same area.

Angel and I had tried Papa John's once near DLSU in Manila. We wanted to try it again, but this time together with my wife.

It was almost noon time when we got there. The place was totally deserted and so we had a free choice of where to sit. We chose a booth near the front. The place was a bit dark except for some light on each table.
The paper place mats were full of puzzles so Angel and her mom entertained themselves by trying to outdo each other on who solves them first.

The first to arrive was the Seasoned Potato Wedges (P99) which was served with ranch dressing. I asked for some ketchup though. I was not impressed with the seasoning of the wedges. I just wished that they just served it with salt, like french fries. Also, the inside was a little bit raw. This was what we had while waiting for our pizza and pasta.
The next to arrive was the Spaghetti with Meatballs in Bolognaise Sauce (P200). My wife and daughter shared it, but I had a chance to taste it. It was saucy but oily as well. It tasted bland that my wife had to put some pepper and even some of the chili pepper in it. I think it had about 4 or 5 small meatballs.
The last to be served was the large (14") pepperoni pizza (P575). We were asked if we wanted the original hand tossed pizza or the thin crust. Since I am partial to Shakey's when it comes to thin crust, we chose the former. Again, their pizza is unique because it is served with garlic dipping sauce to dip your crust in and some pickled chili fingers (or they call it pepperoncini pepper).

The pizza was chewy with a lot of crispy pepperoni. It looked like bacon because it was cooked so well that it was served not flat at all. Of the ten slices, I think I had about 4 while the two had two each. I also tried the pepperoncini with the wife getting a small slice and tasting it too.
Angel liked the dip so much that she asked me to have some more pizza so she can have the crust to dip.
By the way, if you spend at least P1000 and used your Citibank credit card, you get 1 free 9 inch cheese pizza. I am just not sure till when the promo is.
To finish this post, here's a short stolen video of Angel while we were waiting for the food to be served.

I believe this is another American fast food chain. We have not tried dining here. There's one in Robinson's Galleria however the place is always congested. Your wife is very pretty! :)

Hi Farida. Yup, another American pizza joint. My sister in LA tells me that this is where they usually order for take-out or delivery when they need a pizza fix.

Thank you for the compliment. I am sure my wife will be reading this :)
